Let’s be clear about one thing from the start...
The KYOM Positive Menopause Approach is NOT about “just having a positive attitude”. I am a glass half-full girl, but with the emotional upheaval that menopause wreaks, I wouldn’t patronise you with that, my friend.
And it’s not about fixing yourself, pushing through, or making the best of it either. Though it can offer genuinely positive outcomes — day by day, moment by moment — when you give it a go.
No… the KYOM Approach is about how you meet your version of menopause on your terms to move forward.
Because menopause doesn’t just change your body.
It disrupts your emotional rhythms, your tolerance levels, your sense of self, and the way you relate to the world around you.
And when the rules change, how you respond matters more than ever.
Menopause doesn’t care who we are. It disrupts all of us.
It’s a mahoooosive pattern interrupt that demands change. How you respond is up to you.
The KYOM approach to menopause becomes your chosen path through the mayhem.
When menopause changes the terrain of your life, taking a KYOM approach is your route through it — deliberate, intentional, YOURS
It’s how you apply your values to living through the very real emotional upheaval menopause brings.

In my opinion, that's our first challenge as women. Because perimenopause doesn’t arrive as one problem.
It arrives as many.
Not one or two hiccups; MANY!
We're not talking just hot flushes, brain fog, exhaustion, and weird monthlies, are we? We're talking emotional storms that are debilitating, destabilising, and deeply personal.
Anything from:
Mortifying shame
Crippling loss of confidence
And comparisonitis smeared with self-doubt
To:
Out of the blue rage and just plain old intolerance (on a good day)
Heaving resentment
Overwhelming grief for the loss of who you were
Bewilderment at how the world now ‘unsees’ you
Exhaustion that feels existential, not just physical
And a depressing sense that your old, trusted ways of operating no longer work
Sound familiar?
Yep. They are ALL part of the menopause extravaganza us women get to deal with for YEARS!
However, there is some good news...
When you take a KYOM approach to this madness, you learn how to ditch the - unwarranted! - self-blame and self-loathing and stop treating this outbursts as flaws or failures.
Because they’re not.
What they are is signals.
Messages.
Waving flags that something important in you is asking for your attention.
By the time you reach menopause, my friend, you've already learned how to cope with life's ups and downs.
You’ve adapted.
You’ve managed.
You’ve held things together — often impressively.
And I know that as perimenopause hit I was NOT looking for ways to just do more of that.
No.
Instead, the KYOM approach offers you a way of meeting what’s happening while staying true to yourself, in fact… BY staying true to yourself.
Because, with menopause at the helm, it’s not about control.
It’s about your response.
It’s about your intention.
It’s about reviving the real you.
KYOM is not a checklist or a set of rules but it does provide a structure for guidance.
It outlines a way of approaching moments — again and again — with agency, self-compassion, and self-respect.
In practice, this can be:
Pausing instead of pushing
Choosing where your energy goes
Responding rather than reacting
Letting your values, not your habits, guide your decisions
Allowing some things to fall away without guilt
Sometimes that involves action.
Sometimes it involves restraint.
Often it involves doing less — but with far more intention.

This matters.
KYOM is not:
About becoming a better, calmer, more enlightened version of yourself (though you can achieve that if you want to… it’s up to you!)
About enduring more politely
About reframing everything as a gift
About spiritual bypassing or toxic positivity
It doesn’t ask you to rise above menopause.
It helps you meet it — on your terms.
KYOM isn’t a programme you complete.
It’s an approach you grow into.
You might start by reading. By listening. By noticing where menopause is asking you to adjust rather than push through.
Small shifts count. Deliberate choices matter. And nothing, absolutely nothing here requires perfection.
It’s about navigating menopause without losing yourself — and, in many cases, finding a version of yourself that feels more honest, more grounded, and more yours than ever before.
And, if you’re here, you’ve already knitted your first stitch!
